Ashram writes history, Bulgaria demonstrates power and Russia faces trouble in Guadalajara

It’s not an exaggeration to say that the rhythmic gymnastics World Challenge Cup in Guadalajara was memorable. Linoy Ashram recorded the biggest win of her career, Bulgaria showed its full power in groups, Russia has a question to decide and a lot of problems in group, plus we unfortunately saw one of the worse in-competition injuries lately.

World Cup Sofia: Taseva and Ashram collect their first gold medal

Katrin Taseva and Linoy Ashram win their first World Cup gold medal. Aleksandra Soldatova is the most successful gymnast with 3 gold medals and 1 bronze. Sofia World Cup: Aleksandra Soldatova and Bulgaria are gold medalists

Aleksandra Soldatova wins the All Around of the first World Cup of the year, ahead of Ekaterina Selezneva and Linoy Ashram. Despite the mistakes with hoop during the first day, Aleksandra obtains the highest scores with clubs and ribbon and overcome teammate Selezneva. Prelude to the World Championships: Sofia World Cup, 1st day

Selezneva amazes the audience and is currently first after two apparatuses. Despite a mistake with hoop that keeps her score under the 17.000, Soldatova is back with a new ball routine and obtains 19.500 with ball, which is the highest score of the day.
