Sochi 14-17 April. The selection of the two olympians is becoming way more difficult. During the All Around for clubs (held between 14 and 15) Dina Averina triumphed followed by her twin Arina. The 3 top competitors Kudryavtseva, Mamun and Soldatova arrived friday to compete for the russian title. Aleksandra Soldatova won brilliantly the competition with 4 very good executions obtaining 77,150 and imposing on Margarita Mamun (76,950). Dina Averina was 3rd with 76,500. Melitina Staniouta flexible and charming is the most successful rhythmic gymnast of team Belarus, and she will soon represents her country at Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Salome Pazhava one of the first georgian athletes, who managed to win a ticket for the Olympics Games in Rio de Janeiro as a rhythmic gymnast. 1st day of competition of Moscow Grand Prix 2016 was particularly intense since it was the beginning of the season there were many mistakes from the top gymnasts. Many of them at their first international appearence. On the other hand there were many “outsiders” like the extraordinary Dina Averina who enchanted the audience with her fresh and risky routines, placing herself 2nd (just 1 point under the leader Soldatova). Another surprise was Ashram Linoy from Israel who finished way ahead her unlucky teammate Neta Rivkin.
The Kazan Championship, competition reserved to junior gymnasts, was also the first official release of russian elite gymnasts (Alexandra Soldatova, Ekaterina Selezneva, Arina and Dina Averina, etc..) and of the group, who welcomed back olympic champion Anastasia Bliznyuk. Moscow Grand Prix and Valentine’s Cup. The new Grand Prix’s circuit started this weekend in Russia, hosting again another major event after the Gala for the 80 years of russian rhythmic gymnastics (last weekend in St. Petersburg).
